GDC Soibugh Talent hunt Competition Concludes with Great Success On December 21, 2024, a vibrant and engaging Talent Hunt Competition was organized by the Department of Education and the Department of History, in collaboration with the Debates and Seminar Committee, Govt. Degree College Soibugh. The event aimed to provide a platform for students to showcase their diverse talents and foster a sense of community through healthy competition. The competition featured six main categories: Quiz Competition Painting Competition Singing Competition Group Song Competition Cooking Competition Recycled Art Making Competition The day began with an enthusiastic gathering of students and faculty who were eager to witness the talents of their peers. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as participants prepared for their respective competitions. The event was moderated by Dr. Osia Majid (Department of Education) whose engaging presence helped to maintain the flow of the programme and keep the audience entertained throughout the day. The quiz competition was the first event of the day, where teams competed against each other in a battle of knowledge. Team A, consisting of Insha and Muskan demonstrated exceptional teamwork and knowledge, ultimately securing the first position. Their ability to work together and answer questions accurately impressed both the judges and the audience. The quiz not only tested the participants’ knowledge across various subjects but also encouraged them to think critically and collaborate effectively. Following the quiz, the painting competition showcased the artistic talents of the students. Participants were given a theme to work on, allowing them to express their creativity and imagination on canvas. Arsalan Rashid from Semester 1st stood out among the competitors, winning first place for his remarkable artwork that captured the essence of the theme. Fatima Fayaz also impressed the judges with their creativity, earned the runner-up position. The paintings were displayed for everyone to admire, further highlighting the artistic capabilities of the students. The singing competition added a musical flair to the event, with participants showcasing their vocal talents. Owais Majeed (Semester 1st) emerged as the winner with his powerful and melodious performance that resonated with the audience. His ability to connect with the audience through his singing left a lasting impression. In the group song category, the Boys Club (Sajad Bashir, Arsalan Rashid, Tajamul Ahmad Khan and Aqib Nabi) delivered a captivating performance that earned them first place. Their harmonious blend of voices and energetic presentation showcased the importance of teamwork and collaboration in musical performances. The cooking competition was another highlight of the day, where participants demonstrated their culinary skills. The aroma of delicious dishes filled the venue as students presented their creations to the judges. Adfar Jan and Arsalan Rashid once again showcased their talent, winning the cooking competition with a dish that impressed everyone with its flavor and presentation. Shaid Nabi and Kamran Yousuf were recognized as the runner-up, demonstrating her culinary skills as well. This competition not only allowed students to express their creativity in the kitchen but also emphasized the importance of healthy eating and cooking skills. In the Recycled Art Making Competition, Arsalan Rashid again emerged as the winner. As the event progressed, the in-charge principal Prof. Roohi Jan took the opportunity to address the audience. She briefed the students about the benefits and significance of participating in such events. Her speech emphasized how competitions like these help students build confidence, enhance their skills, and foster a sense of community among peers. She encouraged all students to engage in extracurricular activities, as they play a crucial role in personal and academic development. The Talent Hunt Competition was a tremendous success, bringing together students from various backgrounds to celebrate their talents. The collaborative effort between the Department of Education, the Department of History, and the Debates and Seminar Committee created an environment that encouraged participation and enthusiasm. The event not only provided a platform for students to showcase their skills but also promoted camaraderie and a sense of belonging within the college community. There was a formal prize distribution ceremony during which the position holders and winners in all categories were awarded medals, trophies and certificates. In conclusion, the Talent Hunt Competition organized on December 21, 2024, was a remarkable event that highlighted the diverse talents of students.
